Our Commitment

Nelliano Limited understands and takes seriously our health and safety obligations. We operate in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (New Zealand) and follow WorkSafe New Zealand guidelines to ensure all work is carried out safely and responsibly.

We actively identify, assess, and manage risks to prevent accidents, injuries, and property damage while maintaining high service standards.

Our Health and Safety System

We use structured health and safety systems and site-specific procedures that enable our team to work safely while protecting our personnel, our customers, and the public.

 

Our system provides practical tools and clear guidance that help team members identify hazards, manage risks, and meet health and safety requirements at each work site.

Hazard Identification and Risk Management

  • Site-specific hazards are identified before work begins and reviewed as conditions change.
  • Risks are assessed and controlled using appropriate measures such as safe work methods, PPE, isolation, or elimination where possible.
  • Hazard controls are communicated clearly to staff and monitored by supervisors on-site.
  • Work is paused if unsafe conditions are identified until risks are adequately controlled.

Safe Work Practices

  • All staff are trained in safe work procedures relevant to their roles.
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and used where required.
  • Tools, machinery, and equipment are regularly inspected, maintained, and used correctly.
  • Warning signage and barriers are used when necessary to protect occupants and visitors.

Chemicals and Materials

  • Cleaning chemicals are used in accordance with manufacturer instructions and safety data sheets (SDS).
  • Wherever possible, environmentally responsible and low-risk products are selected.
  • Chemicals are stored, handled, and disposed of in line with legal requirements.

Training and Supervision

Every Nelliano Limited team member receives role-specific health and safety training before commencing work. Our operational supervisors provide hands-on guidance and conduct on-site oversight to ensure health and safety expectations are understood and followed at all times.

Incident Reporting and Continuous Improvement

All incidents, hazards, and near misses are reported, recorded, and reviewed. We investigate incidents promptly and take corrective action to prevent reoccurrence and support continuous improvement.
